Connought club ladies champion Sylvia Bloomfield won the ‘D’ Area Final of the County Champion of Champions competition on Sunday and will now face the ‘A’ Area winner in the semi-finals.
Bloomfield beat Tina Howard of Dunmow 21-8 in 13 ends and now progresses to the last four, due to be held at Falcon on Saturday, August 24.
Despite her exertions that morning, Bloomfield played again that afternoon, joining Connaught teammates Carol Robinson, Juliet Perryman and Janet Carrington in a 23-18 Colbert Cup League victory against Wadham.
