Leyton Orient boss praises mental strength of side after Stevenage win keeps them top of League One
Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade believes his side were strong mentally after their 1-0 win at Stevenage kept them top of League One.
The O's had to grind their way to a result this afternoon through Kevin Lisbie's header which extended their 100 per cent record this season.
Slade said: "It's just a really great result for us again and keeps the momentum going. You have to have a certain mindset when you come to places like Stevenage, to be strong mentally and not just physically which we were.
"You have to dig in and keep going all the way against Graham Westley's teams because they'll battle on from the first minute until the last."
Lisbie netted his fourth goal of the campaign and the Orient boss insisted he was not surprised the former Charlton striker got his name on the scoresheet again.
Slade said: "We created the best opening of the first half and deserved our lead. Kevin has done that a few times this season so it wasn't a shock but it's still a very good finish."
