Old Loughtonians held to 1-1 draw against Bromley and Beckenham in Men’s Now: Pensions Conference East
12:00pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in Sport
Old Loughtonians were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Bromley and Beckenham in the Men’s Now: Pensions Conference East.
The first half started at a frenetic pace and Loughts created good chances but Ed Mortimer and Arol Artigas both hit their shots high, allowing the keeper to save.
Both teams were more open in the second period and Tom Watson and George Farrant came close to opening the scoring.
The deadlock was finally broken by Old Loughts from a short corner in the 55th minute. The play was slipped left to Tom Sibley, who slapped the ball across the goal allowing Stuart Hardy to score his fourth goal in as many games.
The lead was not to last long however, as the visitors were mysteriously awarded a short corner on the hour for a foot in the D by Tom Stumbke.
With almost a carbon copy of the Loughts goal, Brom Beck equalised by deflecting the ball high into the goal.
Old Loughtonians Ladies lost 1-0 away at East Grinstead in the Investec Womens Conference East League.
