Senior Division Cup
There were surprises galore in the second round as Westhamians, Alemite Athletic, Ongar Town and Galleywood all put out higher division teams.
Ongar Town, from Division Two, possibly pulled off the result of the round against Premier Division Harold Hill as they won 5-2 after extra time.
Normal time saw both teams unable to be separated at 2-2 with Emmanuel Douglas and Danny Monero the Harold Hill scorers.
In extra-time though, Ongar went into overdrive and scored three goals to go through. Ben Polley hit a hat-trick, while teammate Niki Love scored a double.
Westhamians gained their first win of the season the previous Saturday and followed that up by defeating White Ensign 2-1.
Ben Hudson hit the target for White Ensign but Matt Price put his team through with a brace.
Another Premier Division team crashed out at Fairlop Oak where Galleywood beat Newbury Forest 4-3.
Newbury’s danger men Toch Singh and Jason Reynolds-Blanche both scored, the latter with two, but Matt Ridley, Luke Norton, Adam Dowsett and Tom Lakin fired Galleywood into the next round.
Wadham Lodge are also through after they won 3-0 at Benfleet.
Bobby Dweyne netted twice but the goal of the game came from Leon Wilson, who scored a screamer from 40 yards out.
Buckhurst Hill returned to the top of the table after they gained a 2-1 win over Manford Way.
James Lindie and George Brislen-Hall tipped the game Buckhurst Hill’s way, cancelling out Damian Yoxall’s goal for Manford Way.
Harold Wood Athletic also stayed in touch with the top after they gained a convincing 3-0 win over M&B Club.
Jake Marsh hit the net twice with Lee Pyne scoring the other goal.
Frenford Senior are also among the chasing pack after they posted a 2-0 win against Hannakins Farm.
Brad Foley and Danny Driscoll were both on target.
Table-toppers Runwell Hospital gained another win as their unbeaten start to the campaign continued with a 3-1 victory over Lakeside.
Lakeside scored through Will Burford but Aaron Rix bagged a double for Hospital, alongside a solo effort from Andrew Austen.
Debden Sports kept themselves within touching distance of the top spot after they thrashed Ryan 4-0.
Toby had enough chances to win the game at Roydon but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Patrick Middleburg found the net for the away side, who also missed a penalty, but ultimately had keeper Adam Bennett to thank as he pulled off a late save to deny Roydon gaining their first win of the season. Division Three Jack Sim and Josh Woodcock, who scored his sixth goal of the season, ensured a 2-1 victory for Snaresbrook, which keeps them top of Division Three.
Dan Howett scored opponents’ Ramsden Scotia’s lone goal.
LOASS carved out a 3-1 win at Epping.
Epping’s scorer was Tom Neale but goals from Michael Ryder, Victor Nkolo and Aamon Sommers gave LOASS all three points.
