Crostyx ladies' unbeaten run was brought to an end on Saturday with a 3-2 home defeat to Stevenage in East Women's Hockey League Division C.

Stevenage took an early 2-0 lead but Crostyx kept their nerve and pulled a goal back before half-time.

Kirsty Breeze cleared the ball to Sarah Belsham who played in Vicki Berrill with a quick ball down the line.

Berrill, who was named player of the match at the end, dribbled round the Stevenage defence before setting up Belsham for the shot and, as her shot was saved, Carrie Curtis tapped in the rebound.

Stevenage restored their advantage shortly after the interval but Crostyx refused to lie down.

Donna Blockley gave the home side hope before the end but Stevenage held on for a suprise victory.

Crostyx will be looking to bounce back away to Blueharts on Saturday.

The Men's miserable season continues after a 4-2 defeat to City of Peterborough in East Men's Hockey League Premier B.

Crostyx remain rooted to the bottom of the table with three points from nine games with a home game against Letchworth to come on Saturday.

The Men's seconds were thrashed 8-1 at home to Essex University while the Ladies seconds were also on the end of a drubbing, losing 4-0 against Wapping Thirds.

The Ladies thirds lost 2-0 at home to East London fifths and the Men's thirds drew 1-1 with Upminster fifths.
