East London Boxing Academy's Roman Haidari has been named Waltham Forest Under-16 Sports Personality of the Year.
Roman has enjoyed an impressive year, winning the national schoolboy championships twice in succession as well as being voted club captain for the Academy.
"I am completely humbled to receive this at such a beautiful event," he said.
"I couldn't have done this without my coaches at the East London Boxing Academy and all who have supported me throughout my journey so far as well as many others, so thank you."
Elsewhere 17-year-old Athsham Khan beat Mayflower ABC's Steve White, who is eight years older in Bristol on Sunday to become London and Southern Area champion.
Athsham has now progressed into the Senior Novice class A National semi-final and is only two fights away from claiming national honours.
Academy coach Umer Ali Iqbal was full of praise for the pair. "I am so proud of the boys, they have worked hard throughout the year and deserve all the success they get," he said.
"I have known and been working with the boys for a number of years and both these young men have the attributes to go far.
"The East London Boxing Academy now has a number of up and coming young lads who are ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Roman and Athsham."
