Buckhurst Hill enjoyed a double triumph away to Northampton Town as their 14-7 win counted in both the SEMLA East First Division and the Int East Plate.
It was a sluggish start from the visitors who relied on individual efforts from Chris Merritt, Jonny McGee and Elliot Appleyard to squeeze a 3-2 first quarter lead.
Despite Appleyard’s total domination of the midfield, the game remained tight with the score 5-5 at half-time.
The third quarter however saw Bucks up their game, running in eight goals with a mixture of strong running, sharp passing and powerful shooting effectively ending the Northampton challenge.
Appleyard was again at the heart of things adding a further four goals to his tally.
With the outcome effectively sealed play became scrappy and Bucks conceding a number of penalties.
Keeper Ben Stowe continued his fine form with a string of brilliant saves that restricted Northampton to one goal in the quarter, which was answered late on by an individual effort from Pete Bowyer.
Bucks face an away league fixture next against Walcountian Blues.
