Leyton’s Michael Johnson will compete for the BAMMA Lonsdale British Welterweight title at Birmingham’s LG Arena on December 14 and the bout will be televised on Channel 5.
Nicknamed the Black Death, Johnson will take on Wayne Murrie at BAMMA 14, Europe’s main Mixed Martial Arts show, which is broadcasted all over the world.
Johnson, who boasts 13 years of professional MMA experience, is defending his title which he won in the United States in June.
The Leyton-born fighter has recently returned from a long spell out of action due to injury, but since returning has won an impressive four fights in a row, including the Global Warrior Challenge.
However, he faces formidable opposition in the experienced Murrie who specialises in groundwork and explosive takedowns.
