Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is set to disappoint West Ham by joining FC Toronto - and going back to Spurs on loan.
Defoe has reportedly agreed a four-year contract for the MLS side and is expected to be loaned back to Spurs until Toronto's pre-season starts. The North American league starts on March 8.
The switch comes as a blow to West Ham who were hoping Defoe might be the answer to their own striking problems.
The Hammers are desperate to strengthen their forward line having only scored 13 goals in 16 Premier League matches.
