With many games called off due to the weather, Toby took full advantage as they beat Ryan 5-3 to climb up to fifth in Essex Olympian League Division Two.

Toby, looking to avenge a heavy defeat in the reverse fixture before Christmas, had the best of the early play and took the lead via Major who latched onto a loose ball in the box and nodded in the rebound.

Just before half time it was 2-0 when Carr pounced on a mistake by Ryan's keeper and tapped in from close range.

Ryan had a couple of good chances themselves but failed to capitalise and Toby quickly went 3-0 up in the second half with Carr turning in Middleburg’s cross.

They then strung together some excellent passes and Gallen’s delivery was buried into the far corner by Morgan from 22 yards.

At 4-0 up Toby eased off and Ryan scored two quick goals but the game was killed off by a Ryan own goal.

Ryan missed a penalty late on before eventually claiming one more consolation goal to reduce the deficit.
