Leyton Orient have signed former Brentford and Coventry City forward Robbie Simpson until the end of the season.

Simpson's two-month contract with Orient expired this week and the O's have moved quickly to agree a new deal with him.

The 28-year-old has made 11 appearances for Russell Slade's side but has yet to score for the club.

Speaking after the Carlisle United game on Saturday, Orient boss Slade said: "I thought he did well because he’s been struggling for a little bit of fitness with a hamstring problem so he’s not had a great amount of training sessions. But his contribution was a very good one today."
