Antonio Nocerino is hoping regular first team football with West Ham will help him make a late push into the Italy squad heading to World Cup this summer.

The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on loan until the end of the season from AC Milan in January and has made four substitute appearances.

“I hope this spell [at West Ham] will help me get back into the Italy squad,” he told TalkSPORT.

“One of the reasons I came to West Ham and the Premier League is to play on a regular basis.

“My first objective is to play for West Ham and help the club move up the table.

“From that, if I am playing well and I get picked to go to the world cup in Brazil, that will be an added bonus.”

Nocerino joined Milan from Palermo in 2011 and has scored twelve goals in seventy two appearances in Serie A.
