Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade was pleased with "three vital points" after his side defeated Stevenage 2-0 to move back into the top two of League 1.

The O's made a fast start to the match at Brisbane Road and goals from Moses Odubajo and Chris Dagnall, in the opening 23 minutes, ended their four-match winless run.

Slade said: "It was a good, solid performance particularly in the first half where I thought we dominated.

"We probably should have helped ourselves to a third goal which I think would have sealed the match. But fair play to Stevenage. They came back and gave it a real go in the second half.

"We were very positive and played with good energy. We moved the ball very quickly and created a lot of openings. They struggled to come to terms with that hence they changed their shape.

"We exploited it immediately which was pleasing. That second goal was always nice when it goes in. It was unselfish by David Mooney who slid it into Dagnall to ensure we went 2-0 up.

"It's important for anyone to score in all fairness but for him to get his first home goal I'm pleased for him. But more importantly I'm pleased that the team and the club have got three vital points."
