Sir Bobby Moore is to be honoured at West Ham United’s Upton Park ground as the club plan to build a memorial garden and sculpture.

British sculptor Frances Segelman has been commissioned by the Galliard Group, the developers whose job it is to turn the stadium into residential properties once West Ham have completed a move to the Olympic Stadium.

They plan to name a memorial garden in the name of the legendary West Ham player and the captain of the England World Cup winning team. The Bobby Moore Memorial gardens are subject to planning approval.

Segelman, along with West Ham, will create other art to be located around the ground which will honour other West Ham legends.

Buildings will also be named after former Hammers players which it is hoped will leave a West Ham legacy.

The current West Ham memorial garden will be kept and brought into the development.
