Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade insists his team wanted it a bit more than Swindon Town after the O's won 2-0 to return to the top of League 1.

Orient picked up their second win in a row and profited from Brentford's defeat to Wolves which enabled them to move back to the league summit.

Slade said: "The important thing was to get the win and we're probably at the top because we've played a couple of games more than the teams in and around us.

"But it was all about us getting the performance and wanting it a little bit more than the opposition today. I thought we were well worth the three points."

The goals came from an unlikely source as midfielder Lloyd James scored two penalties to end Orient's poor recent record from the spot.

Slade said: "Lloyd was grappling for the ball with Chris Dagnall. We knew it was one of those two that would take it but Lloyd was obviously very confident and he scored twice this afternoon, so that has probably doubled his tally for the season so I'm sure he will be delighted."

Dagnall hit the post and had a second-half header chalked off for a foul which Slade felt was harsh on the striker.

The O's boss said: "He's [Dagnall] been unlucky today. He's hit the post and then there's barely any contact with that header. I don't really know why we haven't got that goal but the important thing was we were creating chances all afternoon. Not only that but without the ball I thought we were excellent."
