Five East London Runners competed in surprisingly mild conditions on Saturday in the Hackney Marshes parkrun.

Patrick Brown finished on top yet again with a blistering time of 16.52, while Mark Boulton was close behind in second with a personal best time of 17.23.

Russell Price (19.13) was three places further back in fifth, Sarah Burns was the first lady home in 26th in a new personal best of 21.38 while Lee Neville also clocked a new best time of 22.02 for 29th.

In the 5k Walthamstow equivalent, David Baldwin won the race with a time of 21.09, and Richard Guest clocked 22.23 to earn himself third place.

Thomas Grimes’ superb time of 17.41 was only enough to secure second place in a Dublin parkrun.

Tom Woods ran the gruelling Tokyo Marathon on Sunday with more than 36,000 other runners and clocked a time of 3.59.06.

Closer to home in Laindon there were a number of East London Runners competing on the same day in the Ford Test Track ten-mile.

Patrick Brown faired best in third place with a time of 57.37, while Boulton was again setting a pb with a time of 1.01.09.

Also running was Russell Price (1.04.18), Will Pearce (1.05.07), Ramesh Pala (1.15.11), John Healy (1.22.18), Maud Hodson (1.23.44), Don Bennett (1.34.12) and Julie Creffield (1.53.29).

Manjit Bedi managed the best time of the club members in half-marathon action with 1.22.52 for 15th place at Sleaford. Adrian Perera clocked 1.26.01 at Richmond while at the Hampton Court event Wayne Kelly (1.45.55) led home Ian Cooper (1.56.25) and Stuart Dorman (2.04.07).
