East London Runners were out in force at the Roding Valley Half Marathon on Sunday as 37 of the club's competitors crossed the finish line with ten managing personal best times.

Brothers Euan and Patrick Brown were the fastest finishers for the Runners contingent, finishing third and fourth respectively in the race.

Euan registered 1.15.25 while Patrick clocked 1.17.22.

There were personal bests for Will Pearce (1.27.59), Richard Guest (1.32.23), Paul Thompson (1.33.37), David Baldwin (1.35.12), Ramesh Pala (1.44.07), Claire Emery (1.44.15), John Healy (1.46.52), Stuart Doman (1.50.36) and Julie Creffield (2.39.08).

Yvonne Shashoua was the fastest lady vet Over-50 with 1.40.40 while Sheila Kennedy's personal best of 1.55.02 saw her finish second quickets and Fiona Day was third fastest in the same category with her pesonal best of 1.55.17.

Three Runners were in action at the Essex 20-mile race at Langham.

Manjit Bedi (2.08.11) was first home for the Wanstead-based club before Michael Wilson (2.37.59) and Lee Wollaston 2.42.23 also finished.

Ar the Finchley 20-mile event, Allan Todd (2.26.18) was first in with Russell Price (2.26.54) and Dan Spinks (2.55.02) not far behind. A day before their success at Roding, Patrick and Euan Brown were also among the top spots in their parkruns.

Patrick came first at the Walthamstow 5km race with a time of 18.52 while Euan's 16.49 was enough for third at Wanstead.

Sam Browne (18.20) was close behind Euan in fourth while Russell Price came seventh with 19.47.

At the Chingford Orion Mercury 10-mile cross country event, Thomas Grimes crossed the line in seventh with a time of 1.14.08.
