The O’s are certainly in the ascendancy on the back of a six-game unbeaten run and made history by gaining their first maximum points last night at Vale Park since the late 1950s.

With news filtering through that our closest rivals – namely Wolves and Brentford were cantering to wins – it was imperative we matched them especially after not getting the result we would have wanted and probably expected at Meadow Lane last weekend.

And, it’s always difficult going to Vale Park. Once labelled as the ‘Wembley of the North’, it’s not only a mightily impressive stadium, worthy at least to stage Championship level games, but also it's an impressive and expansive pitch.

The latter probably played into our hands as the extra space seem to give the likes of Moses Odubajo and Coxy [Dean] the space in which to exploit a sometime labouring back line.

But to be totally honest, who hasn’t toiled against our forwards this season? Not only have we passed the almost eye-watering 70-point mark, but we’ve also hit the same tally in goals and clean sheets are once again frequent with Eldin Jakupovic in fine and consistent form.

Consistency and a ‘who dares win’ attitude will probably be the order of the day for our live TV, sell-out clash with our arch enemies from west London on Saturday.

Fair play however to the Bees who have put behind the disappointment of missing out on automatic promotion last season and in the last 20 plus games they have put together a run that has seen them top the table.

But, having missed out on a place in the Championship last May, the school of thought may be that the pressure is on the Bees, as well as big-budget Wolves, to fill those two automatic promotion slots.

Orient on the other hand have all but ensured a play-off spot but with ten games now remaining if we can continue showing the form and levels of performance we displayed at the start of the season, it would take a brave punter to bet against us going up automatically.

Be prepared for some twists and turns over the remaining seven weeks of the regular season!

Keep the faith,

Up the O’s.
