Chigwell School’s Under-15 netball team have been crowned champions of the Kelsall Independent Schools Cup.
The girls made an excellent start to the competition, beating host school Brentwood 7-5 and continued their winning start with a 6-5 victory over Felsted.
The afternoon followed a similar pattern with a string of wins and one draw thanks in part to excellent performances from Annie Redmond, Ava James and Kirsty Farquharson.
The Chigwell girls needed to win their last game against Bancroft's to win the tournament.
With captain Megan Whitehead unable to play due to injury, the squad needed to dig deep and did so, recording a comfortable win to lift the trophy.
The Chigwell squad included Whitehead, Serena Dench, Millie-Mai Sorrell, Ava James, Kirsty Farquharson, Melissa Garnish, Ellie Sibley, Maddie Simpson, Annie Redmond and Anna Gleadall.
