Sam Allardyce has won the Premier League manager of the month award for February.

Allardyce won the award after guiding West Ham to a perfect record in the top-flight last month to steer them away from the relegation zone and into a mid-table position.

Beginning with a 2-0 home win over Swansea City, the Hammers only conceded one league goal in February as they also defeated Aston Villa and Norwich City by the same scoreline before ending the month with a 3-1 victory over Southampton.

Commenting on the award on West Ham's official website, Allardyce said: "It's a fantastic time to win this award and of course the players and the staff take as much credit as I do, because that month of February was so needed by everybody who supports West Ham and who works at West Ham because of the predicament we found ourselves in.

"I always said that when we overcame our injuries we would put things right and we couldn't have done any better than winning every game in February."
