Leyton Orient keeper Eldin Jakupovic recalled by Hull City after injury to Allan McGregor
Leyton Orient keeper Eldin Jakupovic has been recalled from his loan by Hull City after a kidney injury to Allan McGregor.
The Hull keeper was sent off last night in the defeat at West Ham United but suffered an injury after colliding with Mohamed Diame.
It is the second time that Jakupovic has been recalled by the Premier League club after McGregor was suspended back in January.
Orient's Jamie Jones is stepping up his return to fitness following a hairline fracture in his back and has been on the bench for the last two matches.
But boss Russell Slade insisted he was still some way off a return when speaking after Saturday's draw at Walsall.
He said: “Jake Larkins was injured so we put Jamie on [substitute]. He’s had a week’s training with us and we’re pleased he’s on schedule but he certainly wouldn’t be there yet. He’s had no football at all and we need to get him involved in some matches of some form or another before he gets his opportunity.
“We’ve got a couple of matches coming up against Millwall and Dagenham & Redbridge where we will give him some game time.”
