Tom Woods became the first member of the East London Runners to complete all six major marathons when he completed the Boston Marathon on Monday.

This was the first Boston Marathon since the 2013 bombings which killed four runners and injured a further 260.

Woods had previously completed the Berlin, London, Chicago, New York and Tokyo marathons and became the 50th East London Runner to complete a marathon in April.

A time of 5.35.52 was affected by a medical stop after 18 miles, but Woods battled on to cross the line.

In the Wanstead Flats 5km on April 19, Euan Brown won in a time of 15.57.

There was a personal best for Lee Wollaston in 13th, posting a time of 19.53.

The Valentine Park 5km run saw personal bests for Shahib Ali in tenth, who finished in 20.25 and Grant Conway in 22.05.

Also on Saturday Paul Thompson (32.06) and Sarah Burns (38.46) claimed personal bests in the Victoria Park five mile run.
