Chigwell School's Under-13 football team were beaten 3-0 by Whitgift School in the INVESTEC Independent Schools FA National Cup Final last Thursday.
Held at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium, the Under-13s were the second Chigwell School side to reach a ISFA final after the Under-16s won the schools shield last year.
Whitgift made life hard for Chigwell from the off, fielding a side which included the maximum number of academy players allowed with five.
The Croydon side took the lead after 17 minutes but Chigwell kept it at 1-0 until half-time with Alex Barnes impressing between the sticks.
Louis King had Chigwell's best chance, but playing his first game since September, could not convert.
The killer second came ten minutes before the end and in the final minutes the Whitgift midfielder completed his hat-trick to hand his side the title.
Creag Lawrence, Head of Football at Chigwell, said: ‘This was a great occasion for all involved at Chigwell and it will certainly be a day that the players will remember for a long time.
"The boys worked incredibly hard on a huge League Two pitch to contain a very talented Whitgift side and I am delighted with the attitude and the manner in which the boys conducted themselves."
