ECB National Club Championship Cup

Wanstead & Snaresbrook began their season with a 71 run victory over Enfield on Sunday.

Enfield won the toss and put Wanstead into bat, making 241 for eight from 45 overs.

Opener Arfan Akram top-scored with an unbeaten 103 for Wanstead, whilst Patrick Blair took three for 38 for Enfield.

In response, Enfield were bowled out for 170, with Rakesh Marishetti top-scoring with 34.

Shahzad also impressed with the ball for Wanstead, taking four for 34.

South Woodford beat Hertford by three wickets on Sunday.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, South Woodford bowled Hertford out for 204.

Cliff Cavner's knock of 56 was the highlight for Hertford, with Richard Browne taking two wickets for 19.

South Woodford scored 207 for seven in response to win by three wickets.

Michael Browne top scored with 52, whilst Chris Cook's two for 34 made him Hertford's most effective bowler.

Buckhurst Hill were beaten by Waltham by 124 runs on Sunday.

Put into bat first, Waltham posted 292 for nine from their 45 overs.

Naseer Ahmed was unbeaten on 106, whilst Daniel Golding took three wickets for 78 for Buckhurst.

In response, Buckhurst Hill were bowled out for 168, Atif Zafar top-scoring with 37.

Iftikhar Mehmood took four for 29 for Waltham.

On Sunday Chingford beat Winchmore Hill by 29 runs.

Put into bat, Chingford hit 207 for eight with Alfie Taylor top-scoring with 46.

Winchmore Hill were bowled out for 178 in response, with tail-ender Mark Barrell smashing 66.

Jamie Porter took four for 30 for Chingford.

Essex League Dukes League Cup

South Woodford beat Woodford Green by 76 runs in the Essex League Dukes League Cup on Saturday.

Woodford Green won the toss and put South Wooford into bat.

An unbeaten 69 from Jake McMullen helped South Woodford on their way to 244 for four.

In response, Woodford Green were bowled out for 169.

Gary Neicho starred for South Woodford, taking five for 35.

Loughton lost their Group G match to Chelmsford by four wickets.

Put into bat first, Loughton were bowled out for a disappointing 141, Hamza Ahmed top-scoring with 34.

James Clifford was the pick of the Chelmsford bowlers, taking five for 16.

Chelmsford made light work of chasing down Loughton's total, winning with a total of 142 for six.

Nick Prowting top-scored with an unbeaten 42. Bilal Butt took three for 17 runs for Loughton, but it wasn't enough.

Woodford Wells beat Epping by eight wickets in their Group I match on Saturday.

Epping won the toss and elected to bat, but were bowled out for just 81.

Ajay Sahni top-scorer with an unbeaten 26 for Epping. Tom Clark took four for 26 for Wells.

Woodford made light work of swatting Epping aside, losing just two wickets for the 82 runs required.

James Lever top-scored with 43.

Buckhurst Hill beat Gidea Park & Romford by seven wickets in their Group D tussle.

Put into bat first, Gidea Park were bowled out for 114.

Sam Hewitt top-scored with 30, whilst Rohan Bhome took three for 22.

Buckhurst won with 117 for the loss of just three wickets, Jamie Allen top-scoring with an unbeaten 36.

Fives & Heronians crushed Billericay by nine wickets in their Group B match on Saturday.

Batting first, Billericay scored 200 for seven, with Stewart Rutland their 37-run top-scorer.

Kishen Patel took three for 38.

Fives made light work of ensuring victory, scoring 201 for the loss of one; Mick Perry their top batsmen with an unbeaten 108.

In Group A, Chingford beat Upminster by 98 runs.

Chingford posted 232 for eight, with Taylor helping himself to 86.

Shafiq Rahman took three for 32 for Upminster.

Upminster were bowled out for 134, opener Billy Gordon top-scoring with 32.

Taylor excelled with the ball too, taking four for 26.

Oakfield Parkonians lost to Old Southendian & Southchurch by seven wickets in Group E.

Put into bat, Parks were bowled out for 159, with Old Southendian scoring 163 for three to win.

In Group J, West Essex were beaten by 107 runs by Belhus.

Belhus set a target of 239 for nine, with opener Joe Joyce scoring a ton.

Abdul Gafangaf took three for 29 for West Essex.

Bowled out for 132, West Essex top-scored through Julian Joy, unbeaten on 22.

Danny Norris took seven for 34 for Belhus.

Friendlies

On Sunday, Ilford Catholic lost to Leyton Orient Supporters by 33 runs.

Batting first, LOSCC posted 196 for five. Annath Kumar was the pick of the Catholic bowlers with three for 45.

Ed Tooth was unbeaten on 84 and Mo Zaman scored 57 but Catholic could not chase down the target set by LOSCC The day before, an Ilford Catholic Select XI were beaten by two wickets by a Chairman's Select XI in an interclub friendly.

Ilford's Select XI batted first and were bowled out for 189 with Adrian Swain (65 not out) and Kumar (25) putting on a good partnership.

The Chairman's Select XI won with two wickets to spare, scoring 190 for eight.

Josh Dharmanandan took three wickets before Vince Mullholland's 26 got the Chairman's XI across the line.
