Essex League Premier League 

Chelmsford beat South Woodford by 36 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method on Saturday.

Batting first, Chelmsford posted 204 for six, with Chris Prowting top-scoring on 64, whilst Nisarg Patel weighed in with an additional 38.

Matthew Lancaster took two for 36 for South Woodford.

Set a Duckworth-Lewis revised target of 174 from 32, South Woodford fell short by 36 runs.

J.MacMullen top-scored with 32 and Michael Gymer added 24 as South Woodford reached 137 for nine.

Tom Craddock took three for 23 for Chelmsford.

Upminster batted strongly to claim a 29-run win over Loughton.

Having won the toss and put Upminster into bat, Loughton quickly regretted their decision as the hosts made 294 for four.

Shahbaz Butt top scored with 90 and Alan Ison was unbeaten on 55.

Bilal Butt was Loughton's most effective bowler, taking two for 34.

The visitors' response started strongly, with Mohammed Hafeez scoring 81, whilst Kashif Mahmood added a further 38.

However Loughton scored 265 for nine as they ran out of overs.

Wanstead saw their clash against Chingford abandoned due to rain.

Put into bat, visitors Chingford scored 161 for eight after losing two overs to the weather.

Ben MacGregor scored 48 and Jamie Porter and unbeaten 26 for Chingford.

Further rain saw Wanstead's target reduced to 159 from 46 overs under Duckworth-Lewis, but 17.2 overs into their innings, rain finally saw the game abandoned.

Wanstead were 58 for five at the time, with Lenny Daniels having taken three for 26.

Essex League Division One

Buckhurst Hill were another to fall foul of the rain as their game with Hutton was abandoned on Saturday.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl first, with Hutton bowled out for 111 in 31.1 overs.

Visitors Buckhurst had scored 40 for one after 10.1 overs when the decision was made to abandon the tie.

Woodford Wells also saw their match against Hadleigh and Thundersley abandoned due to the rain.

Batting first Wells had posted 185 for four from 39 overs when the game was called off.

Essex League Division Two

Fives and Heronians drew at Orsett on Saturday.

Orsett won the toss and put Fives into bat, with the visitors making 243 for five before declaring.

Mick Perry fell four short of a century before being bowled and Gary Edwards hit 53.

George Gibbon took three for 29 for Orsett.

In reply, Orsett racked up 212 for the loss of just one wicket as time ran out.

Ryan Plom raced to an unbeaten 91 and Paul Bennett scored 60.

Essex League Division Three

Woodford Green saw their clash against Benfleet fall foul of the weather on Saturday.

Batting first after losing the toss, Woodford were bowled out for just 130.

Masood Qazi top-scored with 40 before being dismissed leg before wicket and Rana Arslan added 37.

Chris Hammond took three for 12 from just seven overs for Benfleet.

Less than an over into the Benfleet innings, the game was abandoned.

Oakfield Parkonians also saw their game with Epping fall foul of the weather.

Epping won the toss and elected to bowl as Parks declared on 205 for four.

With Epping on just 69 for two, the game was curtailed due to the inclement weather.

Herts and Essex League

Division One

Ilford Catholic thrashed Hockerill by 147 runs on Saturday in a rain-reduced overs match.

With only 35 overs available to either side, it was Ilford who dealt with the situation better, scoring 279 for four.

Steve Ward top scored with 61 and Abbas Saleem added an unbeaten 60 to the Ilford total.

In response, Hockerill managed just 132 for seven.

Opener Anthony Challis scored 53, with Adam Commercial the second-highest scorer with just 17.

Ravi Ramanuja restricted Hockerill effectively, taking three for 47 as Ilford.

Herts and Essex League Division Four

Ilford Catholic Seconds comprehensively beat Little Hallingbury by nine wickets on Saturday.

Having won the toss, Ilford put Hallingbury into bat and bowled their hosts out for 100.

Arul Gopalasamy took three for 14 before Sarankan Skandamoorthy obliterated the lower order with three for five.

Needing only 101 to win, Ilford raced to 103 for the loss of just one wicket.

Opener Bob Marsh hit an unbeaten 57 to guide Ilford to a comfortable victory.

Herts and Essex League Division Six

Ilford Catholic Thirds saw their match against Hockerill abandoned whilst they were on course to win.

Bowling first, Ilford removed Hockerill for just 98, with debutant Smaran Thirunagari taking three wickets.

In reply Catholic openers Dave Revell (ten not out) and Sunil Pulapaka (nine not out) helped Ilford reach 25 before the match was abandoned.
