Third XI Premier Division

Only a battling performance from the tail end saw Wanstead and Snaresbrook Thirds denied a bigger margin of victory at Ilford Thirds.

Having won the toss, Ilford decided to bat first but quickly regretted the decision when their opening four batsmen were removed for just six.

Twenty-seven from Rajat Rasal moved the score along but it was 15 each from Louis Morgan and Ahmedjan Bramkheil which helped the hosts to 99 all out.

Walid Sherzai took five for 13 for the visitors.

With opener Ali Wood not batting, it fell to Naail Dar (27) and David Gibbs (22) to build the foundations of a winning innings as Wanstead reached 103 with seven wickets intact.

South Woodford Thirds were comfortably beaten by nine wickets at top-of-the-league Chelmsford Thirds.

Winning the toss, hosts South Woodford laboured their way to 166 before being removed.

Omer Qureshi’s knock of 42 offered a flicker of hope but a series of low scores saw the home side post a disappointing total.

Craig Thompson was ruthless with the ball, taking five 44, including five maidens.

Opener Paul Keaney’s unbeaten 79 set Chelmsford on their way, with Jack Moss (57) the only wicket as the visitors reached 168.

Buckhurst Hill Thirds found Hainault and Clayhall Thirds’ opening batsmen in ruthless form as they suffered a ten-wicket loss.

Hainault won the toss and elected to bowl first, removing the visitors for 167.

Daniel Golding’s unbeaten 41 was the highlight as the away side struggled with the bat.

Mohammed Shafiq made the most of Buckhurst’s fragility, taking four for 54.

Hainault were clinically effective in reply, with openers Rameez Rehman (75) and Muhammad Fawad (89) scoring the runs to carry the hosts across the line Woodford Wells Thirds lost by 35 runs at Upminster Thirds.

The hosts won the toss and decided to bat first, declaring on 218 for nine before bowling Wells out for 183.

Third XI Division Two

Jonathan Almond grabbed six wickets to help Loughton Thirds crush Westcliff-on-Sea Thirds by 199 runs.

Having won the toss, Loughton opted to bat first, with Naved Ali (90) top-scoring for the hosts.

Kieran Scarlioli added a further 40 as Loughton declared on 258 for seven.

Robert Wood was the most effective Westcliff bowler, taking three for 37.

The Westcliff innings got off to a disastrous start, with both openers dismissed for just four.

Only Jamie Lambert and Tom Baker reached double figures, both scoring ten, as Almond ran riot to remove the visitors for 59.

A batting collapse from ten-man West Essex Thirds was responsible for a seven-wicket defeat at Colchester and West Essex Thirds.

The visitors won the toss and opted to bat first, Waqas Akhtar (32) starting positively enough.

But a disappointing innings for West Essex ended on 126 for nine as Dominic Thomas and Asif Iftekhar took two wickets apiece.

Simon Gilhooly opened with 68 in response and Keir Young chipped in with 30 to help the hosts to 129 for three.

Third XI Division Three

Umer Choudary led the way for Loughton Thirds, scoring an unbeaten 105 in their eight-wicket victory at home to Belhus.

The visitors chose to bat first and lost opener Jim Robinson to a duck before James Banner smashed his way to 61.

With little support from those around him, Banner was comfortably Belhus’ top-scorer as they were bowled out for 170.

Hamza Omar was in devastating form with the ball, taking five for 19 in just seven overs.

Choudary hit 105 to provide a solid foundation for the innings as Loughton reached their target with eight wickets in hand.

South Woodford Fourths lost at Stanford Le Hope Thirds by 67 runs.

The hosts batted first and declared on 231 for nine and then set about removing their visitors for 164 to claim the win.

Fourth XI Premier Division

Wanstead and Snaresbrook Fourths completed a winning weekend for the club, brushing aside Fives and Heronians Fourths by 67 runs.

Installed into bat after the hosts won the toss, Wanstead set about building a total of 267 for five before declaring.

Opener Bilal Patel made 63 and, further down the order, Raja Usman hit 78 as the visitors set an imposing total.

Raheel Haider was the star man with the ball for Fives, taking three for 61.

Shahrukh Irfan hit 46 to get Fives off to a strong start and 36 from Roger Braithwaite provided further cause for optimism before the hosts crumbled to finish on 200 for nine.

Muhammad Atif enjoyed particular success, taking three for 23.

Matt Trim fell six short of a century but still helped Woodford Green Thirds to a four-wicket win over Chelmsford Fifths.

Peter Marshall opened with 54 for hosts Chelmsford but that was as good as it got for the home side, who finished on 209 for five.

Trim’s unbeaten 94 set Woodford Green on their way to 212 for six, with 15 fours and a six in his knock.

The hosts closed the innings on 212 for six, with Barry Green (three for 51) unable to stem the tide.

Buckhurst Hill Fourths were left frustrated as they drew at home to a stubborn Hainault and Clayhall Fourths.

David Rofe fell seven short of a century for the hosts, who declared on 224 for six in order to bowl out their visitors.

Fifty-three from opener Vikash Amin provided cause for optimism but that was soon extinguished and Hainault clung on for a draw with 113 for six.

Fourth XI Division One

Fives and Heronians Fourths beat Oakfield Parkonians Fourths by six wickets thanks to I.Rotsey’s unbeaten 106.

Parks declared on a good score of 237 for six, Santron Divaharan’s 62 made him top scorer.

Portia Blogg (four for 41) was the most dangerous bowler for Fives.

Rotsey raced to 106, with 17 fours and a six, setting Fives on their way to 240 for four.

Fourth XI Division Two

Sam Wilson and Jack Archer shared nine wickets as Epping Thirds beat Stanford Le Hope Fourths by three wickets.

Batting first, Stanford were dismissed for 115, with Wilson (five for 25) and Archer (four for 25) the protagonists.

Craig Ashley top-scored with 39 for the visitors.

In reply, Epping reached their target with only three wickets to spare; Saleem Raza (33) top-scored.

Fourth XI Division Three

Oakfield Parkonians Fourths recorded an 88-run home win over Hutton Fifths.

Disappointing knocks from both of the hosts’ openers were atoned for by third man in, Tariq Jameel (64).

Parks were removed for 184 but shared eight wickets equally among four bowlers to win comfortably.

Only three Hutton batsmen reached double figures as they finished on 96 for nine.
