One of the stalwarts of professional cycling will equal the record for the most Tour de France appearances after the number of teams to confirm their full nine-rider squads rose to five.
American team Trek Factory Racing have revealed that Jens Voigt will take part in the world’s biggest bike race, which goes through west Essex and East London on July 7, for the 17th time.
The 42-year-old German is part of a squad of big names including the Schleck brothers, Andy and Frank, and one of the world’s great one-day classic cyclists and time trialists Fabian Cancellara.
Dutch team Belkin Pro Cycling have also revealed their full Tour hand that will take to the start line in Leeds on Saturday, July 5, joining IAM Cycling, Lotto-Belisol and Omega Pharma-Quick Step in confirming their line-ups.
