West Ham United goalkeeper Raphael Spiegel has joined League One side Crawley Town on a one-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old, who is a Switzerland Under-21 cap, has yet to make his first-team debut for the Hammers, having been at Upton Park since 2012.

Speaking to the club's website, Red Devils boss, John Gregory, said: "He is a commanding presence in the penalty area and a good shot-stopper.

"He's learning his trade at West Ham and this is an opportunity for him to gain more experience and for us to have a look at him."

Spiegel began his professional career with Grasshopper Zurich's second team and has taken in loan spells with FC Wil 1900 and SC Bruhl SG.
