West Ham United are set to sign Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson on a season-long loan deal, according to the Daily Mirror.

The loan comes after Arsenal signed France international Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle for a fee understood to be in the of £12m and teenager Calum Chambers from Southampton for £16m on Monday.

Debuchy is expected to be Arsene Wenger’s first choice right-back at the Emirates this season, after Bacary Sagna moved to Manchester City on a free transfer earlier in the summer.

West Ham are expected to beat the likes of Hull City and Swansea City to sign the former Charlton Athletic full-back.

Hull boss Steve Bruce has also showed interest in signing Jenkinson but only on a permanent basis - something Wenger rejected.

The Gunners boss still believes Jenkinson could return to play an important role at the Emirates next season, after he has gained more Premier League experience at Upton Park.
