Third XI Premier Division

Eighty-eight not out from Josh Hutchings saw Wanstead and Snaresbrook Thirds to a six-wicket win over Buckhurst Hill Thirds.

Hosts Buckhurst were not allowed to settle at the crease by Walid Sherzai (four for 37) and Muhammed Atif (three for 35), who tore into their line-up.

It was not until Aniket Patel (24) at number six that a Buckhurst Hill batsman reached double figures. Qaiser Khan followed up with 38 but the home side were dismissed for 137.

Bilal Patel opened with 35 for the visitors and after a brief slump, Josh Hutchings hit 88 to guide Wanstead to 141 for four.

Bradley Copper’s input proved crucial as South Woodford Thirds beat Ilford Thirds by four wickets.

Electing to bat first, Nikhil Parmar (61) and Ganesh Sai (39) led the Ilford scoring as the visitors were removed for 181.

Copper took four for 22 and Luke Overton claimed three for 40 as South Woodford gave themselves a good platform to build from.

In reply, Copper (58) and Farhan Salahudeen (49) laid the foundations for Woodford to hit 186 for six.

Woodford Wells Thirds lost by seven wickets at table-toppers Chelmsford Thirds following a batting collapse.

Opting to bat first, Wells failed to build on a good knocks from Philip Ashwell (40) and Iain Wilson (68) on their way to 165 all out.

Keith Goodman (five for 44) and Harry Green (four for 47) took the wickets.

Sam Trowell hit an unbeaten 84, paving the way for Chelmsford to reach 168 and victory.

Third XI Division One

Wanstead and Snaresbrook Fourths thrashed Hutton Thirds by 150 runs to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Sixty from opener Nabeel Aziz and late knocks from Jay Williams (64) and Muhammed Arish (53) helped Wanstead to 253 for eight before declaring.

Steve Cotton took four for 55 but conceded 11 runs per over.

Hutton were removed for 103 in reply, Andrew Taker (21) top-scoring for the visitors.

Chingford Thirds lost to Harlow Thirds by 99 runs after failing to build on an encouraging start.

Put into bat first, hosts Harlow shared the runs around with Alan Burton (48) and Faisal Javed (38) making the biggest scores.

Alex Agedah took three for 18 but Harlow were able to reach 238 before being dismissed.

Mark Campell opened with 37 and Chris Knightly added 32 but the visitors fell comfortably short on 139 as Soulat Ali finished with four for 33.

Fives and Heronians Thirds drew at home to Hornchurch Thirds after clinging onto their final wicket.

Hornchurch posted 206 for seven, with Fives only able to reach 140 for nine.

Third XI Division Two

Niketh Shetty’s 80 proved vital as Loughton Thirds beat Colchester and East Essex Thirds by 39 runs.

Shetty built on 42 from opener Naved Ali to help the home side reach 221 before being dismissed.

Andrew Cairns took five wickets for Colchester but at a cost of 78 runs.

After a slow start, good late-order hitting from Keir Young (50) and Cairns (33) saw Colchester fall short with a total of 182 all out.

West Essex Thirds prop up the division after a seven-wicket loss at Billericay Thirds.

Paul Griffiths hit five fours on his way to 45 but Rhys Jones (five for 22) accounted for his and four other wickets as the visitors were removed for just 136.

In reply, Billericay were in control following Lloyd Scott’s 52. Sam Yates reached 38 with five boundaries, easing Billericay to 139 for three.

Third XI Division Three

Top-of-the-league Loughton Fourths suffered a shock four-wicket loss at home to Stanford Le Hope Thirds.

Mohammed Ali scored 49 for Loughton but support was minimal and the hosts slumped to 194 all out.

Jonathon Edwards played an important role with the ball, picking up four for 60.

The Stanford response began with 89 from Neil Gray before Jono Simes’ 29 took the visitors to a winning total of 196 for six.

South Woodford Fourths beat Hutton Fourths by 82 runs thanks to a strong middle-order showing.

Qasim Shah (44) and Rohit Sohal (34) provided important knocks after the openers put on 91.

Removed for 227, Andy Bliss took five for 21 for visitors Hutton.

The Hutton reply faltered, with William Southgate’s 35 the highlight en route to 145 all out; Alastair O’Donnell removing three for 30.

Fourth XI Premier Division

Woodford Green Thirds drew at Leigh on Sea Thirds after failing to remove their hosts.

The visitors put up a respectable total of 215, with Mitul Bhatt (65) and Sayaad Hussain (30) making the biggest contributions as David Archer took five for 36.

Forty from Jac Sexton got the Leigh innings off to a strong start but a lower-order collapse saw the hosts finish on 206 for nine.

Jack Bassett hit a century but Chingford Fourths could only draw with Buckhurst Hill Fourths.

Supported by Adil Daniyal (64), Bassett’s 103 provided the backbone of Chingford’s total of 292 for six before opting to declare.

Buckhurst were disappointing with the bat and never looked like threatening their hosts’ total but still managed to draw with 142 for nine.

Usman Mirza – one of nine to bowl – finished with figures of two for five.

Fourth XI Division One

Vijay Vijayanathan’s five-for helped account for Ilford Fourths, as Oakfield Parkonians Thirds won by eight wickets.

Hosts Ilford were dismal with the bat and with Vijayanathan to the fore, were removed for just 45.

Parks made light work of beating the total, losing two wickets on the way to 48; Stefan Premadasan hitting 21 for the away side.

Fourth XI Division Three

Oakfield Parkonians Fourths remain firmly in the promotion hunt following a two-wicket win over Belhus Fifths.

The visitors stumbled to a total of 120, with Ben Garwood hitting 24; Nick Thorpe claiming three for 12.

Forty-four from Teeratha Diocee dragged Parks to victory, winning with 121 for eight.

Essex League Cup Quarter-Finals

Mick Perry’s 78 helped Fives and Heronians into the semi-finals with a two-wicket win at Shenfield.

John Walter (63) and Jack Kliber (37) weighed in with important knocks for the hosts, who were removed for 260; Pete Kilpatrick taking four for 48.

Perry (78) and Kilpatrick (52) made telling knocks with the bat, as Fives closed on 264 for eight.
