West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is keen on signing Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha in a bid to boost attacking options, according to the Daily Mail.

The Hammers are monitoring Zaha’s situation closely as Allardyce believes new United boss, Louis van Gaal, could let the winger-cum-forward leave.

With Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck dominating the forward positions at Old Trafford, Zaha has found regular playing time hard to come by.

Zaha, who signed for United from Crystal Palace for £15m last January before ending the season on loan with the Eagles, has impressed throughout pre-season with the Red Devils.

Former club Crystal Palace are also understood to be keen on signing the England international, who made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League last season.

Whether any potential deal for Zaha would be a temporary arrangement or on a permanent basis remains to be seen.
