Redbridge completed their pre-season preparations with back-to-back wins ahead of the start of their Ryman North campaign.
The Motormen beat AFC Hornchurch 2-0 on Tuesday night in their final friendly match, with Bradley Hooper and Bostry Bansende scoring the goals.
On Saturday, Dave Ross’ men beat Newbury Forest 3-2 in the first-ever meeting of the two sides. A brace from Dan Chambers was added to by a strike from man-of-the-match Hooper to seal the win.
Redbridge begin their Ryman North season on Saturday as they host Harlow Town at Oakside Stadium.
Waltham Forest’s build-up to their Essex Senior League campaign was dealt a blow after conceding seven goals without reply in two defeats.
On Tuesday night, Ryman Premier League side Wingate and Finchley were 3-0 winners at Wadham Lodge. Karl Olayide, David Knight and Eddie Adjei scored the goals for the Blues.
And Saturday saw Forest comprehensively beaten 4-0 at home to Great Wakering Rovers, with goalkeeping coach Harry Hussein forced to come on following injury.
Off the field, Waltham Forest, whose season begins with a trip to Ilford on Saturday, announced Houssein Houssein as their new chairman, subject to approval from the Football Association.
Waltham Abbey completed their pre-season schedule last Saturday with a 3-0 defeat at Royston Town.
The Abbey begin their Ryman North campaign with a trip to Aveley on Saturday.
