West Ham United attacking coach Teddy Sheringham says he would like to go into management after helping develop the Hammers’ attacking style of play this season.

Sheringham was only recently appointed as a part-time attacking coach under Sam Allardyce during the summer, yet he has already set his sights firmly on management.

The former Manchester United and Tottenham striker has helped West Ham get off to a flying start this season, with new signings Enner Valencia, Diafra Sakho and Mauro Zarate slotting in well and all contributing to Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Liverpool at Upton Park.

The club's board wanted to see a more entertaining West Ham this season and Sheringham has helped deliver that expectation.

When asked about his future ambitions he said told talkSPORT: "I've done my bit of coaching and I'm enjoying that. Obviously I've got a lot to learn, because I've only been in there three months, but it makes me think that I want to have a go [at management] and see where it takes me.”

Sheringham played for the Hammers between 2004 and 2007, scoring 28 league goals in just 45 starts for the club.
