East London Runners hosted the ELVIS 7 Valentine Park 5km on Sunday, as many of their other runners raced in marathons around the world.

At Valentine Park, the seventh and final race of the series, the ladies’ team clinched first place overall with the men finishing second, from 200 finishers.

Leading the way for the club was Euan Brown in third place with a time of 16.20, followed shortly behind by Thomas Grimes in fifth at 17.01.

In seventh place was Patrick Brown (17.06), just less than a minute behind him in 12th was Manjit Bedi (18.04), and 14th saw James Wilson cross the finish line at 18.16.

Russell Price recorded 18.17, Aaron Browne ran a new personal best in 18.27, and Danny Lee (18.55) all made the top 24.

Also representing the East London club, Karen Levison was the first woman to finish the race with a time of 19.21 in 30th spot. Four places behind her was Paul Thompson (19.36), and two places further back with a personal best was Spencer Evans at 19.38.

Ava Lee was the third woman to cross the line at 20.08, Sylvia Brown was fourth (20.32), with Claire Parker behind her (21.15).

Other East London Runners were competing overseas and took part in the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, with three setting new personal bests – Ciaran Canavan (2.42.00), Mark Boulton (2.52.19) and Carlton DSouza (3.20.35).

Emmet Fitzgibbon and Ninette Fernandes also competed in the marathon as Fitzgibbon recorded 4.07.45 and her club-mate 4.52.38.

Representing the London club across the pond was Dan Gritton, who came third in the Saints & Sinners Half Marathon in Boulder City, USA, with a time of 1.18.33. In Paris meanwhile, Jonathan Wooldridge (1.22.06) ran in the Paris to Versailles Grand Classique 10 mile.

Closer to home, two East London Runners ran the Henley Trail Half Marathon.

Roison Archer came 14th and was the second woman to cross the finish line with a time of 1.35.20, while Michael Wilson (1.41.39) finished 23rd.

Sean Richardson took part in the Warsaw Marathon and came 61st with a time of 2.52.51, while Ian Cooper (4.58.13) and Wayne Kelly (5.12.24) were two of 8,200 runners that took part in the Loch Ness Marathon.

In the Ealing Half Marathon, also held on Sunday, Paul Quinton ran 1.18.52, with Jamie Xavier (1.49.28), Dan Spinks (1.50.43), Haresh Mulchandani (1.55.35) and Katrina Dixon (2.06.27) also crossing the finish line.
