Old Loughtonians ladies came from behind to win 3-1 at Broxbourne on Saturday.
The game started well for the visitors with the defensive line pushing everyone forward to attack, but a swift Broxbourne turnover left the Loughts defenders lagging and the hosts scored the opening goal.
Broxbourne began making a number of sloppy stick tackles, but Loughts fought to maintain their composure.
The away side went into half-time 1-0 down but came out determined to turn the game around.
It wasn’t long before Loughts gained a short corner, which was skilfully put past the Broxbourne defence by Heidi Baber. This was quickly followed by a second from Crawley and a third by Sophie Church.
On Sunday, Old Loughtonians men beat St Albans 5-2 in the second round of the Euro Hockey League Cup, which was much-needed after a 4-1 league defeat to Bromley & Beckenham the day before.
Goals from Ed Mortimer, Monty Flynn and Harry Kempe put Loughts comfortably in control, but St Albans pulled a goal back after the break through James Champion.
In his opening game for the first team, James Seagar grabbed Loughts’ fourth, before Tom Goulding completed the scoring.
