Scott Cuthbert has played down the arguments which followed Leyton Orient's defeat at Port Vale on Saturday and insists the squad are still united.

Several players were seen arguing during the post match warm down at the weekend but defender Cuthbert was adamant this goes on all the time. Following the defeat, Mauro Milanese was appointed as team manager yesterday with Kevin Nugent reverting to coach.

Cuthbert said: "That happens every game to be honest. Every match you get beaten there are always little arguments and questions getting asked. That's the way you deal with it.

"It's a great bunch of lads and every single one of these players' aims are the same thing. That's to get us up this table and as close to the promotion places as we can.

"We know we've got the quality that's for sure and we have got the right characters. We've got a lot of characters in there."

Darius Henderson was sent off during the first half which was the third sending off in the last four matches. But Cuthbert believes the team as a whole should take responsibility for the defeat.

He said: "I wouldn't say individuals are. I would say the team are probably letting the manager down with that performance anyway.

"I think there was a lot to be proud of on Tuesday at Doncaster and the manner we played but there were a lot of things we need to work on from today (Saturday) with goals conceded but I wouldn't pick out individuals."
