Premier Division

May & Baker EC kept up their remarkable 100 per cent start to the season by winning their seventh consecutive game on Saturday, beating AAH Romford 4-1.

The win means May & Baker are now an imposing eight points ahead of Jolof Sports Club in second place.

Carl Patten led the way with a double, whilst Lewis Edmunds and Kane Messenger also contributed to a comfortable victory for the league leaders.

Jack Luck came up with a double to guide St Francis to a 4-1 win at Cranes United. Thomas Jakob and Danny Schietaert were the other St Francis marksmen.

Fourth-placed Newham Reserves beat Rainham Working Men’s Club 4-2, with Shaun Cook and Tony David Maynard scoring for Rainham.

Division One

In the division’s only fixture, St John’s Deaf beat Three Colts 5-0 to move into third place. St John’s sit six points behind table-toppers Blue Marlin but have the added advantage of two games in hand.

Division Two

Leyton Green were 3-1 winners at Singh Sabha Barking, but are only a point ahead of second-place Cowley Community, who have a game in hand at the summit.

Anthony Ferdinand, Barack Quadri and Fermat Erdogan all bagged for Green, whilst Rajan Sangha hit back for the hosts.

St Francis Reserves and Cowley Community shared four goals equally in a 2-2 draw; Sean Burgess and Marcel Byfield getting on the scoresheet for St Francis.

Dagenham United were comfortable victors at Northend Reserves, winning 5-1 to hold onto third place in the table.

League Cup Round Two

James Toppin struck four times to carry Blue Marlin of Division One into the next round with a 9-2 victory over Newham Royals.

Keiron James added a brace, whilst Scott Campbell, Matthew Hamilton and Chibueze Anyaegbu were also on target for Marlin.

West Essex Reserves came out on top in a nine-goal thriller against Canio, emerging 6-3 winners.

Ryan Walker scored twice, with Charles Moss, Adam Norris, Otis Gateshouse and Samuel Brown also hitting the back of the net. Robert Haim, Benjamin Aldorini and Hasrat Mahmud all bagged for host side Canio.

Chingford Athletic were 5-1 winners over Chingford Harriers, with Lee Doyle netting twice. Matt Thompson, Danile Costis and Tobias Hayden piled on the misery for Harriers, who got their consolation through Dan Pereira.

Custom House needed penalties to progress past Eastside Rangers (London Community) and into the third round, winning 5-3 on spot-kicks after a 2-2 draw. Mabz Rahman and Robert Wooster were the Custom scorers.

Harry Chalk was the hat-trick hero as Grove United triumphed 6-2 over Glendale. Ben Lowes, Dan Spinks and Alex Victor all notched too. John Taylor and Andrejs Nosikovs registered for Glendale.

Northend won 4-2 at London Bari Reserves to seal their place in the next round. Ryan Leddra (2), Chris Margiotta and Luke Paul Gabriel scored for Northend.

John Shubert’s strike proved decisive as Melbourne Sports beat Forest Green 1-0.
