Epping Upper Clapton thrashed Writtle Wanderers 45-0 to keep the pressure on league-leaders May & Baker in Essex League One on Saturday.

The hosts made a strong start and opened the scoring after just a couple of minutes. That early score set the precedent for the rest of the game and Epping ran in a further three tries before the break.

After the interval it remained one-way traffic, with Epping crossing three more times to underline their superiority.

Although Writtle fought valiantly, they could not resist their hosts, who saw scored via James Hack (2), Conor Reynolds, Ashley Somers, Matt Drury, Mitch Sinfield and Cameron Furlong, with Ross Stalley converting five of the seven tries.

In London League One North, Eton Manor maintained their 100 per cent win record with a narrow 17-14 victory over Luton.

Third-placed Chingford won by the same margin, overcoming Letchworth Garden City to keep the pressure on second-placed Colchester.

Woodford are still propping up the division after succumbing to a 41-3 thrashing at Old Priorians.
