Crostyx were well beaten at league-leaders Spalding, going down 5-1, leaving them third-bottom of East Men’s Division One.
The two teams traded chances early on, but it was the Lincolnshire side who took the lead early on after being gifted possession.
A second soon followed from a short corner, leaving Styx with a mountain to climb after just 15 minutes.
The visitors did halve the deficit before half time when Tim Watson netted from a short corner, but that was as good as it got for them.
Within minutes of the second half getting underway, Spalding snatched a third from a penalty flick before two more followed to complete the rout.
Next up for Styx is a trip to Ford in the New Year.
Crostyx men’s Seconds were beaten 4-2 at Saffron Walden Thirds but remain six points off the bottom in tenth.
Crostyx ladies lost out 3-2 at home to Folkstone, a result which means they are tenth after 11 matches.
Styx ladies’ Seconds were held to a goalless draw at Basildon Seconds which leaves them eighth in Essex Division One.
