Stephen Hendrie will join West Ham on July 1 after signing a pre-contract agreement, the Hammers have confirmed.
The 20-year-old Scotland Under-21 international left-back will spend the remainder of this campaign with current club Hamilton Academical, for whom he has made more than 100 appearances, before moving to London in the summer.
“I’m thrilled to bits,” Hendrie told West Ham’s website. “I can’t believe that it’s happened. West Ham is such a massive club with a massive fan base and I just cannot wait to get started. I’m looking forward to it.”
The Hammers had hoped to bring in Hendrie in the current transfer window but talks broke down. However, as the player is out of contract at his current club at the end of the season, he was free to agree terms to move then.
