Eton Manor kept the pressure on League One North leaders Colchester after easing to a 38-12 win at Brentwood on Saturday.

It extended their winning run to nine matches and left second-placed Eton Manor still just two points behind Colchester.

The visitors opened the scoring after five minutes when winger Michael Eghan sprinted across the line and Callum Mckie added the conversion.

Eton Manor extended their lead midway through the half when Garth Tucker grounded the ball over the line for the second try.

It got worse for the hosts when they failed to clear the ball and Rory Moore went over for Manor’s third try. The conversion made it 19-0 to the visitors.

Eton Manor wrapped up the bonus point before the break with their fourth try after Ben Lockyer touched down.

Brentwood’s persistence paid off when they scored but still trailed 26-5 at the break.

A superb individual try from Nick Horton extended Manor’s lead as the scrum-half sprinted 40 metres to cross the line for their final score of the game.

Brentwood did not give up despite the scoreline – their heaviest defeat of the season – and were rewarded late on when they added a second try.
