Leyton Orient face a huge relegation showdown at rivals Crawley Town this weekend in the race to avoid the drop.

The O’s slipped below Dean Saunders’ side in the League One table following Crawley’s win at Port Vale on Tuesday night. It means the Red Devils are now a point clear of third-bottom Orient although they have played one game more.

Tomorrow's fixture could have a major bearing on both teams’ chances of staying up and manager Fabio Liverani knows the significance of the game.

The Italian said: “For us the game is totally important. All games are important but I have trust in my team and we will go confidently to Crawley.”

Liverani’s first win as Orient boss came in their 4-1 victory over Crawley back in December. But Saunders’ side have improved in recent weeks and back-to-back away wins at Colchester United and Port Vale have revived their hopes of staying up.

Defender Mathieu Baudry and midfielder Marvin Bartley missed Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw at home to Barnsley through injury but both should be available for Saturday and the manager has admitted he is likely to alter the side.

Liverani said: “We will see how the players are and how we recover them but it’s likely there will be some changes in the team because with three games in eight days some changes are needed.”

Midweek results went against the O's with Crawley and Coventry both winning but captain Nathan Clarke insists the side must only focus on themselves during the run-in.

The defender said: "Obviously other results are frustrating but at the end of the day it's down to us. If we win the games coming up now we're confident enough in that dressing room we can go on and do something this season and get out of it. We can certainly do that if we stick together."
