Essex Sunday Corinthian Football League

Premier Division

In the only top-flight fixture to be completed, Romford Elite pulled off a surprise win by crushing Woodbridge 6-0.

The third-bottom side had won twice all season prior to Sunday but ruthlessly dismantled sixth-placed Woodbridge.

Terry Lee Higgins and Daniel Daley each helped themselves to braces, whilst there were singles for Garry Baker and Elliott Greaves to complete the rout.

Division One

It was an equally quiet afternoon in the second tier, with league-leaders Ainslie Wood trouncing Spring Farm 5-1 in the division's only fixture.

Eric Kelly hit a hat-trick, whilst there was a double for Courtney Wedderburn to pile on the misery for the home side. Mark Lovett got Spring Farm's consolation.

Victory means Ainslie Wood are now 15 points ahead of second-placed Warren United Reserves, who have played a game less than the current leaders.

Division Two

Second-placed Flanders closed the gap on leaders Leyton Green with a 2-1 home win over Park Tavern.

Leyton still hold a 12-point lead over Flanders but the second-placed side have four games in hand.

Kristopher Brown pulled one back for Park Tavern but it proved a consolation only.

Fifth-placed Heathside swept aside sixth-placed Wanstead United 5-2 in a lively encounter.

Efforts from Ashley Spencer (2), Jamie Crews, Mark A J Ellis and Carl Andrew Weller sealed a comfortable margin of victory.

Premier Division Cup

EMWA triumphed 2-1 over divisional rivals Elm Park Eagles.

Goals from Reece Morgan and Ryan Reid secured the victory for the away side.

Trophyland Cup

Warren United Reserves edged out their first team in a thrilling seven-goal thriller which required extra time to separate the two.

Braces from James Masters and Grant Ainsworth sealed the points for the Reserves, with a James Peagram double and another from Joe Smallwood not enough.
