Old Loughtonians ladies’ Thirds will take a 15-match unbeaten run into next season after finishing as runners-up in the Essex Premier Division with a 3-1 win over Harlow.
Harlow were put under the cosh from the outset and despite their strong start, it was Loughts who fell behind from a penalty corner.
But Loughts rallied after the restart and pulled level via Caitlin Black. And it was soon 2-0 as Eleanor James laid off the ball for Charlotte James-Pajwani to put Loughts in front for the first time.
James-Pajwani completed the job from a penalty corner to end the 2014/15 campaign in style and launch the new season on a good footing too.
Crostyx ladies played twice over the weekend as their East Women’s League Division One season came to a close with back-to-back defeats.
Saturday saw Styx lose 1-0 at Folkestone before making the trip to Colchester 24 hours later only to be beaten 4-0. Styx will drop into Division Two next season with relegation already a formality.
Wapping ended their season top of the East Men’s League Premier Division ‘A’ but will have a nervy wait to see if they are knocked off top spot.
Second-placed Harleston Magpies host already relegated Felixstowe on Saturday and will take the title with a win.
Wapping did all they could in their final fixture, swatting Felixstowe aside 4-0 thanks to efforts from Felix Styles, Ollie Salveson, Michiel Marck and Grant Aidoo-Nash.
Wapping ladies ended the season with a goalless draw against Canterbury Seconds, their relegation previously confirmed.
