Waltham Abbey’s losing run in the Ryman North was extended to four matches after back-to-back defeats. On Tuesday night the Abbots lost 3-2 at home to Soham Town Rangers.
The visitors raced into a three-goal lead by the break, with Marcus Hall netting a double and Ryan Sharman also on target.
Tom Bruno struck a second-half brace for Abbey but it wasn’t enough for Paul Wickenden’s side to avoid defeat.
There was further disappointment on Saturday as Abbey lost 4-0 at home to Tilbury.
The deadlock was broken moments before the interval as Francis Babalola cut inside from the left flank and rifled a shot into the net.
Abbey fell further behind in the second period when Babalola was felled in the box and Tony Martin dispatched the resultant spot kick.
The hosts briefly stemmed the Tilbury attacks but they then conceded twice in the space of two minutes.
Ruben Duarte lobbed home the visitors’ third and seconds later Tom Wood headed in at the back post to complete the win.
Abbey face Dereham Town on Saturday before taking on Cheshunt on Easter Monday.
