West Ham United loanee Modibo Maiga played 82 minutes of FC Metz’s 1-1 draw at Bordeaux on Saturday, coming off the field just a minute before his side conceded the equalizer.

The draw left struggling Metz in 19th, eight points from safety and with a game in hand on their rivals after squandering a lead which would have earned them three vital points.

Maiga’s teammate and former Chelsea striker Florent Malouda was on song for the away side, setting up Tunisian midfielder Fergani Sassi, who slotted home for the opener.

Wahbi Khazri equalised seven minutes from time with a well taken curling shot into the bottom corner.

And things don’t get any easier for Maiga’s side, with their next match coming against league champions and title challengers Paris St-Germain.

Elsewhere, it was a difficult day for some of West Ham’s other loanees, in particular Sean Maguire’s Accrington Stanley side.

Maguire played 84 minutes as League Two Stanley succumbed to a 4-0 defeat to Dagenham and Redbridge, as he and his team mates failed to get a foothold on the match.

Elliot Lee, son of former Hammers, Newcastle United and England midfielder Rob Lee, played an hour of Luton Town’s 2-0 away defeat to Southend United.

The Hatters were undone by a 25-yard strike from Michael Timlin, which goalkeeper Elliot Justham fumbled in.

Elsewhere in League Two, Paul McCallum came on as a substitute in the 88th minute for Portsmouth in their 2-1 victory over Mansfield Town.

Striker Jaanai Gordon played the full game for Conference side Nuneaton Town as they lost an eight-goal thriller 5-3 to Chester on the final day of the season.

Nuneaton are already relegated, but that did not stop them taking an early two-goal lead.

But four second half goals for Chester, including a stunning strike from George Thompson turned the game on its head.

Finally, Tim Brown played a full match for Isthmian Premier Division side Canvey Island as they beat Wingate and Finchley 3-2.
