Prokit UK Essex Olympian League
Premier Division
Wadham Lodge took the leadership with a midweek win against Rayleigh Town and remained top at the end of the day on Saturday by beating May & Baker E.C. 3-0.
Charlie Georgiou scored a brace for Lodge with Reece Cossan the other goalscorer for the visitors.
There is now only a point between Wadham Lodge and second-placed Hannakins Farm after they had to put in a gritty display to finally seal a 2-1 win over Newham United.
Lodge have a game in hand over Hannakins Farm but third-placed Harold Wood Athletic still retain a threat with three to play.
Tenth-placed Newbury Forest crushed already relegated Southminster St Leonards 6-0.
Division Two
Snaresbrook were beaten to the title and promotion after losing 3-1 to Basildon Town.
In a winner takes all clash, Reece Conway gave Basildon the lead inside the opening ten minutes by unleashing a screamer from outside the box.
Both sides threatened to score but the half-time score remained 1-0. Snaresbrook equalised early in the second half when a corner was deftly headed into the roof of the net.
However, Conway restored Basildon’s lead before Tommy Barton fired home to make it 3-1, kick-starting Basildon Town’s celebrations in the process.
Defeat proved a double blow for Snaresbrook as they also missed out on promotion to Division One after Toby finished second.
Runwell Hospital drew 0-0 with LOASS. They have to beat Ryan next week and then wait for a league decision on their game with Old Barkabbeyans to see if they will be going up.
As it stands Toby currently sit in the in the other promotion berth.
