Woodford Green with Essex Ladies’ Tiffany Porter beat British Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill on her return to win the 100m hurdles at the GreatCity Games on Saturday.

Porter, 27, triumphed over Ennis-Hill in Manchester as she marked her return to competitive action after giving birth and suffering from an Achilles injury.

European 100m hurdles champion Porter sealed the win by finishing in a time of 12.86, whilst Ennis-Hill clocked 13.14 but had to settle for third place.

Woodford Green men’s British Athletics League team began their 2015 campaign by finishing sixth in Sheffield on Saturday, led by a hammer double from Mark Dry and Andy Frost, a shot double from Youcef Zatat and Anthony Oshodi and a win for the 4x100m team.

Joseph Dewar, Dan Awde, Omololu Abiodun and Jermaine Hamilton recorded a time of 40.62 to edge out Sale by 0.03 seconds in the 4x100m.
