The Dewar brothers excelled for Woodford Green with Essex Ladies at the Essex County Championships in Chelmsford.

Joseph Dewar won gold in the junior 100m with a time of 10.54 (+0.2), whilst younger brother Shayne collected silvers in the Under-17 sprints with a time of 11.21 (+0.5) over 100m and a personal best of 22.49 in the 200m.

Canaan Soloman also clinched gold in the Under-17 800m with a time of 1.52.64, whilst training partner Daniel Rowden finished second in the senior 800m, despite only being a first year Under-20. A time of 1.51.92 was enough for him to take silver.

Woodford Green had a number of representatives in Monday’s Bupa 10km, with Kat Gundersen the first of the club’s quartet of women home, completing the course in 39.08.

Suzanne Turvey ran 39.45, Rachel Lund clocked 41.14 and W50 Karen Balcombe finished in 4.21.

Darren Southcott then led the men home in 33.24. Tomaz Plibersek followed him in, clocking 34.28. Pete Caton (36.28) and Julian Russell (36.32) were next home with personal bests.

M40 James Perry ran 43.26, while M55 Stuart Phillips managed 48.29.
