Carlton Cole, Guy Demel, Jussi Jaaskelainen and Nene will all be released at the end of their West Ham United contracts after the Hammers announced their retained and released list.

Young professionals Kieran Bywater, Sean Maguire, Paul McCallum and Dan Potts will also depart, along with scholars Jerry Amoo, Kieran Bailey and Taylor Tombides.

Kyle Knoyle, Djair Parfitt-Williams and Alex Pike have all agreed their first professional deals with the Hammers.

It had been expected striker Cole, 31, would leave the Hammers after finding himself well down the pecking order at the club this season and he has previously stated his intered in moving to Major League Soccer.

He took the Twitter to bid farewell to the club and its supporters following the announcement and said:

The former Chelsea and Charlton Athletic hitman made just eight Premier League starts this season and across two spells has turned out 293 times for the Hammers, scoring 68 times during a nine-year association.

Re-signed following his release at the end of the 2012/13 season, Cole featured less frequently during his second stint after returning as cover for the injured Andy Carroll.

Ivory Coast international Guy Demel joined the club from Hamburg in August 2011 and went on to make 83 appearances in all competitions, helping West Ham win promotion during his first season in England.

However, the experienced full-back was on the periphery this term thanks to the form of Carl Jenkinson and Aaron Cresswell, making just three league starts.

Goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen joined the Hammers following promotion back into the Premier League in 2012 and was the club's number one before Adrian succeeded him in midway through the 2013/14 campaign.

The 40-year-old Finn made his last appearance in the goalless draw at Southampton in February as a substitute following Adrian's dismissal. He made a total of 69 outings for the Hammers.

Brazilian forward Nene joined on a short-term basis in February and made just eight substitute appearances without scoring.
